Showcase at Nether Stowey

A showcase of Quantock Nature Calling artwork is displayed in the heart of Nether Stowey, at the Thomas Poole Library, until the end of January 2026.

Created as part of the Quantock Nature Calling project, which took place across 6 months in 2025, we celebrate the creative achievements of participants during a series of workshops led by artist Luan MacDonald. Commissioned in partnership by Somerset Art Works and the Quantock Hills National Landscape, the participants were primarily from African communities and families living on or around the Quantock Hills, the themes explored migratory birds which travel from Africa to the Quantock Hills.

The artwork will continue to tour around the county, watch this space for further details.

The project was part of a national initiative called Nature Calling, facilitated by Activate Performing Arts and hosted by the National Landscape Association, looking at how creativity and countryside come together to explore themes that encourage new relationships with our natural landscapes.
